Sunday dinners

The Burnaby real estate market can be so hectic and so chaotic that it’s important to have some sort of escape at the end of the week. For us, it’s our Sunday night family dinners. Last week, my entire family, except for one of my brothers - who is cruising in Alaska as I write, come out for a night of good food and conversation. It was my youngest sister’s turn to cook and she put on quite a spread! There was home-made foccacia bread, grilled salmon, ratatouille, roasted tomato and basil rigatoni - all made with love. She went all out and made two fantastic desserts as well: tirimasu (the best I’ve had) and mango pudding. We all enjoyed every bite of the meal.

We’re contemplating ordering in or going out for a casual dinner for future dinners. This way, we don’t have to worry about cooking and doing the dishes. Of course, I’ll wait until it’s my turn to cook to discuss it with the family…
