A day in our life

The Burnaby real estate market is still holding steady. Usually, our schedules are filled showing our mid-priced homes, but latey, we’ve been outrageously busy with our higher end houses. It just goes to show that demand for high end homes goes in waves. Sometimes, we have apartment and townhome buyers flooding the market. Other times, we have more buyers interested in expensive homes, which seems to be happening for us now. But just because many of our listings have been selling doesn’t mean we’re slowing down anytime soon.

In fact, just last night, I worked until nearly 11pm. My day started early, as usual. I’m up no later than 6:30am. This is when I check our emails and see what’s booked for the day. It’s my quiet time, giving me a chance to respond to emails and prepare for the day ahead. At about 8am, it’s time to wake the kids and get them ready for school. That’s always fun! I’m not sure who gets more stressed over our morning routine - the kids or me.

Anyway, back to yesterday. After the kids were sent to school, I met with a buyer and showed her six homes in North Burnaby and South Burnaby. As soon as I left my buyers, I had to race downtown to tie up some business with another client. When I was done that appointment, I met with another client, whose home I just sold, to help her find an apartment in Vancover. When I was done, I took my daughter to her dance lessons. After she was done, I dropped her off and promptly went met up with my morning buyers to show them one more home. That appointment lasted a good two hours because they decided to write an offer on the home. After that appointment, I had time to pop back into the office, return calls, follow up on some deals and have a quick (and I mean quick) bite to eat. Later that evening, I went to a client’s home to firm up a deal, which went on until nearly 11pm. That’s a typical day in my life.
