Jump In
A number of weeks ago, we discussed the powerful impact the Power Within workshop had on us. Most times, workshops are great in getting you fired up for the afternoon, but then the next day, that feeling of trying to improve sales, lose that weight, start that business, or live your best life has disappeared along with hefty price tag you paid to attend the seminar. Fortunately, this one was different for us.
I think a lot of it had to do with Mark Burnett, one of the amazing speakers that day, and producer of the successful Survivor series. Mr. Burnett’s latest book Jump In takes his lessons and insights one step further. One of the reasons for his success is his “Jump In” approach to life. If he has an idea that he’s only 40-50% sure about, he won’t sit around going over the pros and cons of whether or not to pursue it. Instead, he’ll go for it and not look back. He’s not afraid of failing and he’s not afraid of hard work.
Another tip Mr. Burnett provides is to take an adventureous approach to life. Now that doesn’t mean you have to scale Mount Everest or kayak white water rapids. Being adventureous is a state of mind. It can be as simple as ordering something new at your favourite restaurant or taking a different route to work. It’s the act of adding variety to your day and opening your life to new experiences.
As Mr. Burnett says, life is too short to be timid. Jump in! Pursue your dreams, shoot for the stars. Then at least, you’ll life without regrets - and that’s the best way to live!
