Get the best from yourself!
As we mentioned in our last blog, we participated in the Power Within seminar held last week at the Trade and Convention Centre. We’re still pumped from the event! This morning, to re-visit this fantastic experience, we re-read our workshop handout and found an article that everyone could benefit from. It was written by Robin S. Sharma, a successful author, coach and speaker on living your best life.
In his article, Mr. Sharma says, “Too many poeple die at 20 and are buried at 80. Too many people coast through life, never manifesting their full potential and using only a fraction of their personal talents.” For readers looking to get the best from themselves, he offers the following six tips:
1. Think without
limits - Allow yourself to dream big dreams. More importantly, believe
there is a chance for them to materialize.
2. Be mindful of your surroundings - Two important influences in your
life are the people you spend time with and the books you read. Make
them both positive factors in your life.
3. Make everyday count - Try new things, take chances and expand your thoughts.
4. Get comfortable being uncomfortable - Too many people accept
mediocrity in their life, but the only way to a satisfying life is to
push yourself to your limit. Demand more from yourself and push
yourself to tackle your fears head on.
5. Focus your energy - Know what you need to get done, but also know
what can be left undone. If an activity will progress you toward an
important goal, do it. If it doesn’t think twice.
6. Now take action - How many times have you thought of doing
something, but left it too long that the feeling passed? Don’t let that
happen to your life. Take action towards living the life of your
dreams. Do something right now. Write down your goals. Write down your
dreams. Then do one thing to move you towards your dreams.
Good luck!
