Burnaby living at its best

May 31st, 2005
The Burnaby real estate market just got hotter! Last weekend, we attended a preview of Centre Point Living, the lastest apartment/townhouse project in Metrotown. Developed by Intracorp Developments Ltd., the 32 storey apartment building is set to be the tallest residential tower in Metrotown. It’s definitely an exciting addition for Burnaby!

What attracted us to Centre Point Living was its convenient location and its unique features. Residents at Centre Point Living won’t have to worry about crossing the busy traffic on Kingsway since they’ll have access to a secure pedestrian skybridge to Metrotown Mall. Talk about convenience! Weekend Report

May 24th, 2005
If you’re ever looking for peace and quiet on a long weekend, stay in town! That’s what we did. The roads, malls, and parks weren’t as busy as they normally are. Even our phones weren’t ringing off the hook as they usually are. We attended a family friend’s wedding on Saturday night at Kirin Restaurant at Cambie and 12th Avenue. It was the perfect choice of venue because there was tons of underground parking, the atmosphere was cozy and the food was spectacular. The bride and groom are a young couple who actually eloped in Vegas last Christmas. Seeing how relaxed and happy they were that evening, eloping and then doing a big celebration dinner

Movie night

May 20th, 2005
Last night, we watched The Phantom of the Opera on DVD, directed by Joel Schumaker. I had seen the production live years ago (before the kids of course) so it was nice to see it again. The music was fantastic. The girl who plays the lead role of Christine has the voice of an angel. She’s amazing. Everyone else did a great job. I had forgotten how much I liked this opera until I watched it again. While watching the production on DVD is a convenient way to see this opera, I have to say that it’s nothing like experiencing it live. If it ever comes to Vancouver again, be sure to catch it. It’s one of the best shows I’ve seen. If that doesn’t happen,

Sunday dinners

May 19th, 2005
The Burnaby real estate market can be so hectic and so chaotic that it’s important to have some sort of escape at the end of the week. For us, it’s our Sunday night family dinners. Last week, my entire family, except for one of my brothers - who is cruising in Alaska as I write, come out for a night of good food and conversation. It was my youngest sister’s turn to cook and she put on quite a spread! There was home-made foccacia bread, grilled salmon, ratatouille, roasted tomato and basil rigatoni - all made with love. She went all out and made two fantastic desserts as well: tirimasu (the best I’ve had) and mango pudding. We all enjoyed every

Camping anyone?

May 17th, 2005
This coming long weekend marks the first weekend when many Canadians venture into the great outdoors to enjoy a little rest and relaxation. Knowing the rejuvenating effects of nature, it’s a shame we’ve never planned a family camping trip. We’ve never pitched a tent together, roasted marshmallows over an open fire or slept under the stars. But we would never deny these pleasures to our kids. Last weekend, our oldest son had the opportunity to participate in a school camping trip in the outskirts of Whistler. He had a fantastic time!

The boys in his class were all required to pull together a list of supplies from thermal sleeping bags

Real estate update

May 16th, 2005
The Burnaby real estate market has been extremely busy for us the last couple of months. That explains why we haven’t posted anything in a while. It’s funny, just when it seems like we’ve run through all of our inventory (that’s how busy we’ve been), calls for home evaluations flood our phone lines. It’s great timing! We recentlly listed a couple of townhomes at 6662 Dunblane that have been getting a lot of attention. We also have a townhouse complex at 5261 Victory that has been gettting a number of calls. As the prices for homes in Burnaby continues to increase, demand for apartments, townhomes and half duplexes have gone through the roof.
